Bayern Munich have opened talks to sign a shock player from Manchester United, according to reports.
The Bavarian club endured a disappointing season which saw their run of 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles come to an end, as Bayer Leverkusen secured the title.
Bayern also dropped out of the Champions League in the semi-finals to Real Madrid, who went on to lift the trophy by beating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Prior to the end of the 2023/24 campaign, Bayern confirmed that Thomas Tuchel would be leaving the club and the German giants have since appointed Vincent Kompany as his successor.
The former Manchester City defender had recently suffered relegation from the Premier League with Burnley but now makes the jump to Bayern, who will be eager to get back to winning ways next season.
Attention will now turn to potential additions to the squad that the club can make this summer, with a shock move for United captain Bruno Fernandes now being reported.

According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Bayern have taken the 'first steps' to signing Fernandes in the coming months. Talks between the club and his agent, Miguel Pinho, have taken place.
La Liga side Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in Fernandes, who commented on his future as links regarding a move away from Old Trafford continue to swirl.
"I will be here until… I said the club needs to want me," he said. "I feel that is the case, the club wants me to be a part of the future. As I’ve always said, I don’t want to be a player that the club doesn’t want to have.

"If for some reason the club doesn’t want to have me I will go but if they want me I will stay."
The player is contracted at United until 2026 and the club also have the option to extend his stay for an additional year.
