Like many other clubs in the Premier League, Arsenal had a quiet January transfer window as teams look more likely to do their business in the summer.

The Gunners added to their squad last year with a £100m fee paid to West Ham United for Declan Rice, while Kai Havertz was acquired from Chelsea for a reported £65m.

Jurrien Timber also joined from Ajax, but the defender's Arsenal career has not yet got properly up and running due to picking up an unfortunate ACL injury on his Arsenal debut.

Overall, the January transfer window was a much more low key month for business compared to years gone by, with only £100m spent by all 20 clubs.

That represents a drop of more than 700% when compared to 12 months previously.

It looks like the summer transfer window will be the more livelier window for player moves to take place - and there are two names the Gunners have been linked with a switch for at the top end of the pitch.

According to TeamTalk, Arsenal scouted two players in the same game on Saturday as Wolves hosted Brentford at Molineux.

The Bees ran out 2-0 winners, with Ivan Toney continuing his excellent run in front of goal by finding the net for the third time in four games since returning from his betting suspension.

And it's claimed that Arsenal, who have been heavily linked with Toney, were compiling detailed notes on him.

Many feel as though Toney could be the missing piece for Arsenal and he is out of contract in 2025.

But Wolves winger Pedro Neto is also said to be a target and Arsenal were also watching him on Saturday.

Neto has three goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season.

The reports adds that the duo would likely cost a combined £140 million.
