Alexander Isak is reportedly set to be the subject of a bidding war between six clubs in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United talisman Isak is one of the most talked-about strikers in world football after an impressive campaign for the Magpies.

So far in the 24/25 season, the 25-year-old has scored 21 goals and assisted five in 30 appearances across all competitions.

In the Premier League, Isak's tally of 19 goals is only bettered by Erling Haaland (20) and Mohamed Salah (25).

Having played 24 matches in the Premier League, Isak is averaging 0.86 goals per 90 minutes, which is better than Haaland (0.78) and falls just short of Salah (0.91).

As a result of his top performances, Isak has been linked with a move away from Newcastle ahead of the summer transfer window.

It has now been claimed that six clubs from around the continent are interested in signing the Swedish international.

Six clubs show interest in signing Newcastle United star Alexander Isak

As reported by Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, La Liga giants Barcelona are looking to bring Isak in as a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who turns 37 in August.

However, the Catalan club will face tough competition from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain for the striker's signature.

It has been suggested that it will take a bid north of €100 million for Newcastle to even think about doing business.

Aside from Isak, Barcelona reportedly have Liverpool winger Luis Diaz and AC Milan star Rafael Leao on their shortlist.

Isak was missing from Newcastle's matchday squad on Wednesday night after suffering from a groin problem.

With their number one striker out of action, Eddie Howe's men endured a tough night at Anfield as they fell to a 2-0 defeat, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister were the scorers for Arne Slot's men.

Newcastle are hoping that Isak will be 100% when they take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on March 16.
