A new update has been delivered on the future of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
The future of Isak, 25, has been one of the major talking points of the entire summer transfer window.
To date, it has been well documented that Premier League champions Liverpool would like to add the Swedish international to their ranks.
The Reds had a bid rejected earlier in the summer, and it was suggested that they would not submit an improved offer unless given encouragement to do so.

Recently, Isak took to social media to claim that 'promises' made to him by the club were broken as he continues to strike.
This week, it was reported that Isak held talks with members of the Newcastle board as they aim to find a solution with the transfer window edging closer to an end.
However, despite meeting at the player's home, it has been claimed that Isak's stance remains unchanged - he would like to leave Newcastle for Liverpool.

On Wednesday afternoon, a new report emerged which delivered an update on the saga.
According to the I Paper, Newcastle are bracing themselves for a second bid from Liverpool. However, the Magpies are refusing to move away from their £150 million asking price.
The report stated: "Newcastle United remain braced for a second bid for Alexander Isak as the transfer saga of the summer is now set to go down to the wire before Monday’s transfer deadline."
It has been stated that this could 'unlock several stalling striker transfers across the Premier League and Europe'.

Newcastle have so far had two bids rejected for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, with a third offer now expected to be tabled in the coming days.
I Paper reported that there is a feeling that Strand Larsen could be signed before Newcastle take on Leeds United this weekend.
However, a deal for Brentford star Yoane Wissa remains in the balance with the Bees refusing to sell.
There is a also a feeling that if Liverpool match Newcastle's asking price and Strand Larsen is signed, a deal for Isak could be struck before Monday night's deadline.

However, time is ticking and with Wolves unwilling to part ways with Strand Larsen, Liverpool could be left disappointed come Monday night.
