Tottenham suffer complete collapse against Newcastle after conceding THREE times inside 10 minutes

Newcastle have delivered a statement first-half performance against Tottenham and strengthened their place on a top-four finish this season.

Tottenham have endured a nightmare start against Premier League top-four rivals Newcastle after conceding THREE times inside the opening 10 minutes on Sunday.

Spurs, who trailed Newcastle by three points ahead of the match, were immediately placed on the back foot on their visit to St James’ Park for a crucial Premier League tie.

Jacob Murphy stunned Tottenham fans inside the opening two minutes after firing Eddie Howe’s men into the lead.

Tottenham recklessly lost the ball in their midfield and Joelinton effortlessly worked his way into the Spurs box before unleashing a powerful low strike.

Hugo Lloris parried Joelinton’s effort away into the path of Jacob Murphy, who fired the ball over the Spurs No 1 from close range.

Joelinton then doubled Newcastle’s lead in the sixth minute after Fabian Schar played him through with a magnificent ball over the top of the Spurs defence.

The 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder superbly rounded Lloris before slotting the ball into the back of the empty Tottenham net.

Murphy completed his brace in the ninth minute and extended Newcastle’s lead again with an absolute screamer from long range.

Schar dispossessed Son Heung-min and picked out Newcastle teammate Murphy, who smashed a stunning strike past a helpless Lloris and into the corner of the net.

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak then made it four inside 20 minutes for Howe’s men, as the Magpies piled on further misery for Cristian Stellini’s Spurs side.

Joe Willock picked Isak out with a superb through ball from the left flank and the 23-year-old Swedish striker charged through on Lloris’ net.

Isak then slotted the ball past Lloris and into the bottom corner of the net, with Eric Dier standing little chance of stopping him after he scrambled after him.

The Sweden international completed his brace only two minutes later after Sean Longstaff laid it off for him before Isak took a touch and slotted the ball in the Spurs net again.
