Tottenham Hotspur Welcomed To South Korea By Son Heung-min

Tottenham Hotspur Welcomed To South Korea By Son Heung-min

The South Korea captain was waiting at arrivals for his Tottenham Hotspur teammates as they began their pre season tour.

Tottenham Hotspur players were given a huge reception by South Korean fans as they arrived for their pre season tour, with Son Heung-min at arrivals to welcome them, as you can see in the video below:

It's no surprise that Son is hugely popular in his home country, the forward is the captain of the national team and a world class export from South Korea.

Back in 2018 he helped lead them to a gold medal at the Asian Games, which automatically triggered an exemption from military service.

So of course, when Tottenham landed in Asia for their pre season tour, they were met with an extremely loud reception by fans at Seoul airport.

Son was actually in place before his teammates came through the arrivals, holding a sign welcoming his teammates to Korea, although he wasn't driving the limo to the hotel.

Tottenham begin their preparations for next season, when they'll be back in the Champions League, with a game against Team K League on Wednesday, before playing Sevilla next Saturday.

Son has become a world class talent during his time in north London, even if his dad doesn't agree, and is one of the best forwards in the world right now.

He ended the previous campaign as the Premier League's joint top goalscorer, sharing the golden boot award with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.

The former Bayer Leverkusen forward might have won it on his own, if it wasn't for Dejan Kulusevski's muddled thinking on the last day of the season.

The Swedish winger recently told the hilarious story of how panic set in against Norwich City as he was faced with an open goal and then failed to pass to Son, before the South Korean thankfully scored two later in the game.

Spurs pre season tour certainly got off to an interesting start, even before the scenes that welcomed them to East Asia, thanks to Antonio Conte's squad selection.

The manager surprised people by leaving Sergio Reguilon, Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks at home for the trip.

Whilst Lo Celso and Ndombele spent the end of last season on loan, and Winks is also expected to leave this summer, Reguilon's exclusion is more surprising.

The left back only joined from Real Madrid last summer and quickly became a fan favourite at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He isn't expected to be first choice in the upcoming season, thanks to the signing of 'cheat code' Ivan Perisic, but he would have still been expected to be a good option for Conte.
