Tottenham Have Been Turned Down By Ollie Tanner - Who Plays In Seventh Tier Of English Football

Antonio Conte isn't getting anything his own way.

Ollie Tanner, who plays for seventh division side Lewes, has turned down a move to Tottenham Hotspur after being unable to agree personal terms.

It's been a tough window for Antonio Conte, who has seen key targets Adama Traore and Luis Diaz join Barcelona and Liverpool respectively.

Spurs agreed a deal to sign Tanner earlier this week but the teenager is choosing to stay with Lewes ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.

Lewes said in a statement: "Lewes Football Club would like to confirm that whilst the club and a Premier League club agreed a deal in principle for the transfer of Ollie Tanner, Ollie and the Premier League club were not ultimately able to agree personal terms and he remains a Lewes FC player.

"Tanner missed today's game against AFC Hornchurch due to an injury sustained midweek and we look forward to welcoming him back to the side as soon as he has recovered."

Fans have reacted to the news and they've used it as a way to mock Spurs.

One said: "What on earth has happened to this club?"

Another commented: "Our window has been bad but at least we haven't been turned down by a non-league player."

While a third put: "Knows his worth, good man."

Spurs have now turned their attention to signing Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur as they attempt to strengthen their squad.

Kulusevski has featured 27 times for Juventus this season but made just seven starts.

That transfer is set to be a loan with a potential buy clause of £40 million, while Bentancur's transfer will be permanent.

The Uruguay international had been linked with a move to Aston Villa earlier in the transfer window but talks never progressed past preliminary stages.

Spurs are hoping to get back into the Champions League and are currently seventh in the Premier League, two points behind Manchester United.

When it comes to outgoings, Tanguy Ndombele is set to return to Lyon on loan three years after leaving.

Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a loan move to Villarreal after failing to nail down a first-team spot under Conte.

Steven Bergwijn continues to be linked with a permanent move to Ajax.
