Diego Maradona has beaten fellow Argentine legend Lionel Messi to be named the best footballer of all time by fans.
The 59-year-old football icon is widely revered for his accomplishments at both club and international level across his prolific playing career.
And fans over at TheTopTens have now placed Maradona at the top of a star-studded list of footballing legends.

"Maradona did something Messi cannot or probably will never do and that is drag an average Argentinian team to the world cup [sic] trophy," one fan wrote in the rankings.
While another posted: "Diego Maradona is surely the most skillful player the world has ever seen."
A third fan said: "Did it all. Better at free kicks and stronger with more heart. Deft touch and unsurpassable control. Never intimidated and always 'showed up' for the big games."

And a fourth added: "Maradona was the best football player ever [to] step into the arena. He was the master of the game and the one and only player that will be remembered for ages to come. Period."
Messi, who is considered by many fans as the best player of all time, secured a second-placed finish ahead of football icon Pele.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner's fierce rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, came in fourth place and current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane rounded off the top five.
Other names that also made the list included ex-Manchester United superstar David Beckham and legendary Brazilian Ronaldinho.
