Fikayo Tomori met his idol Thierry Henry and gave a brilliant response when asked who was the better defender between Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards during a hilarious CBS Sports interview.

Tomori starred as AC Milan secured their spot in the Champions League semi-final following their 2-1 aggregate victory over Napoli.

He put in a stellar defensive shift to contain Victor Osimhen, who eventually scored in the dying stages of Tuesday's second-leg clash.

His effort against the Nigerian striker was praised by Henry, who hailed his 'old school' defending as he highlighted how we went tight to mark his man.

Once Henry was done with his question, Carragher revealed that the Arsenal legend is actually Tomori's footballing idol.

"When I was growing up, I was a big fan," the 25-year-old said. "He was my idol. And as a pundit he's really funny!"

Richards then put the former Chelsea man on the spot as he asked him who was the better defender between himself and Carragher.

Tomori reluctantly answered as he sided with Richards due to his spell in Italy with Fiorentina.

Needless to say, fans online loved Tomori's post-match interview with Henry, Carragher and Richards.

One Twitter user wrote: "Thierry Henry is an idol to many of us growing up."

A second tweeted: "Love him so much …miss him at Chelsea."

A third added: "Deserves England recognition soon."

A fourth said: "Every time Jamie or Micah got his name wrong Kate and Theirry looked at each other and laughed."

Another commented: "Criminal he doesn’t start for England."

Tomori took to social media to react to his interview with the CBS Sports crew.

He tweeted: "Talk to your footballing idol? Completed it mate."

Milan, meanwhile, will meet either Inter Milan or Benfica for a spot in the Champions League final.
