The prediction of a TikTok user calling themselves 'the World Cup time traveller' is still on and it doesn't bode well for England.

Last month, @worldcuptimetraveller on TikTok shared television footage from three weeks in advance showing Brazil lifting a sixth World Cup.

Tite's side have been breathtaking in the Qatar showpiece and smashed South Korea 4-1 in their round of 16 clash on Monday.

Brazil will take on Croatia in the quarter-finals but as per the 'time traveller', the Selecao will go all the way and defeat holders Fance in the final.

The video, which has garnered over 30 million views, was captioned: “Brazil just beat France at the 2022 World Cup final. I'm a time traveller. Helping you out like last year.”

It featured footage of Brazil players celebrating while France's veteran striker Olivier Giroud cut a dejected figure.

According to the scoreline graphic we've seen used for all coverage, Richarlison and Marquinhos were on target, while Antoine Griezmann netted France's goal at the Lusail Stadium.

However, it should be noted that there is some doubt hanging over the world famous time traveller given the celebrations footage used is from Richarlison's first goal against Serbia.

There is still the potential for a Brazil vs France final because of the way the bracket is shaped up. Brazil will play the winner of Netherlands vs Argentina in the semi-final if they get past Croatia, while France will play Portugal should they best England in a first meeting since 2017.

If both win those clashes, then the stage will be set.

The time traveller did correctly predict that Italy would beat England in the Euro 2020 final - though they had said it would be 2-1 to the Azzurri and not a penalty shoot-out triumph.

Another individual believing they have channelled their inner Marty McFly claimed football will come home with England beating Portugal 2-0 in the World Cup final, though that isn't possible as they would have to meet in the semis.
