Chelsea return to the Champions League as English champions, and yesterday their fate in Europe's elite competition was mapped out as their group was drawn out.

Antonio Conte's charges were without European football last season but they're back amongst the big boys after claiming the Premier League trophy.

And the Blues face a tricky first stage following being drawn with AS Roma and Atletico Madrid as well as Azerbaijani outfit Qarabag.

Conte will head back to Italy as he faces AS Roma while a former player could be line to make an emotional return to Stamford Bridge.

After enjoying five seasons in West London, Atleti's Fernando Torres is due to return where he won the Champions League and UEFA Cup.

Following the draw, the Spanish striker has posted a classy message to his former side. He posted a picture of him celebrating in a Atleti and Chelsea shirt accompanied with this message:

"Back at #stamfordbridge for the @uefachampionsleague . So happy to see the blues back at the competition . See you soon @chelseafc."

Torres notably bagged a famous goal at the Camp Nou in the Champions League semi-final. Chelsea beat Barcelona to reach the final where they beat Bayern Munich on penalties to be crowned European Champions in 2012.

In the following year Chelsea then clinched another major European honour in the UEFA Cup with Torres netting on the night.

But after two more seasons at Chelsea, Torres left the club before eventually rejoining his boyhood club. An initial loan deal then became permanent in 2016.

Not long till the iconic Champions League music blares around stadiums across Europe. September 12th/13th can't come soon enough!
