Fernando Torres sent off for shoving and threatening former teammate in youth game touchline fracas

Fernando Torres sent off for shoving and threatening former teammate in youth game touchline fracas

Fernando Torres, now absolutely stacked, got into it with his old Liverpool teammate on the touchline.

Fernando Torres was sent off for a heated clash during which he almost came to blows with former Liverpool and Spain teammate Alvaro Arbeloa.

Torres is now manager of Atletico Madrid's Under 19 side and faced Arbeloa, now Real Madrid's youth boss, in the Champions Cup quarter-final second leg on.

Having been teammates at Liverpool between 2007 and 2009, the two were all smiles before the gam.

But it became a seriously feisty affair, with Real winning 4-2 on aggregate after the score finished 2-2 following extra time.

Boyhood Atleti fan and former captain Torres was furious with the second goal scored by Real and ended up shoving Arbeloa.

As per Relevo, Torres told his compatriot, “I’ll blow your head off!", leading to Arbeloa replying, “start whenever you want” as tempers boiled over in the youth fixture.

Arbeloa was show a yellow card but Torres saw red and instructed to leave the touchline area, prompting protests from the Atletico bench.

But as he was ushered away from the dugout, the 39-year-old was met with insults by Real fans and called one supporter a "clown".

Real will now face Las Palmas in the semi-finals and Torres could well face further punishment for his conduct.

Former Chelsea striker Torres retired from football in June 2019 after a stint in Japan with Sagan Tosun followed a return to Los Rojiblancos.

He was appointed head coach of the Juvenil A in July 2021 but has drastically changed his appearance in retirement by bulking up and looking like a bodybuilder.

With his massive arms and shoulders, you can't help but feel Torres would have been happy to follow up on his threat towards Arbeloa.

Atleti are currently trailing Real by five points in the Division De Honor Juvenil table after 30 games and it's apparent that the rivalry is very much present at youth level.
