James Milner showed off his running times during pre-season and fans can't believe what the 35-year-old Liverpool midfielder is still capable of producing.

Milner is getting ready for his 20th season in the Premier League, having made his debut for Leeds United at just 16 years-old back in 2002, and became the league's youngest ever scorer just months later.

The former England international is still going strong and made 26 appearances in the league last season, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

With many of his teammates still away on international duty, at Euro 2020 or the Copa America, Milner is busy running, and he's doing it pretty fast.

He took to social media to post his splits for an 8km run, and his pace was impressive.

While most players might be slowing down in their mid 30s, that's clearly not the case for Milner, whose reputation has been built on how hard working he is as a player.

Fans were impressed with the former Manchester City midfielder's efforts, praising him on Twitter.

One fan compared his own times, saying, "5.5 miles in 34 mins. I could only do that when I was 20. Well done, old timer."

Another added, "You are an outstanding role model to the younger players. Absolute machine," with 'machine' being a favoured compliment by many.

And a third simply said, "Nah, this is actually insane."

Milner and the rest of his teammates will be hoping that they'll be joined by Kylian Mbappe in pre-season training this time next year.

According to reports, the PSG forward has told his current club he wants to leave after his contract ends in a year's time and the Reds are a possible destination.

Even Mbappe is likely to be impressed by Milner's run times.
