Kyle Walker Peters Has Three Times As Many Assists As Mesut Ozil

It took the Spurs defender just 36 minutes to triple Mesut Ozil's Premier League tally of assists this season, a good afternoon's work.

Kyle Walker Peters needed just 36 minutes against Bournemouth on Boxing Day to triple the amount of assists Mesut Ozil has for the season, not bad for a teenage full back.

Mesut Ozil has carved out his reputation as an assist making machine over a long and pretty successful career, he has won the World Cup after all.

In the Premier League there aren't too many players with more assists than him and he holds the record for assisting in more games in a row than anyone else when he assisted at least one goal for seven Premier League games in a row.

This season things have rather gone downhill for the German and he has been struggling to get into the Arsenal team of late, despite a start against Burnley in the Gunners' recent game.

Ozil has started 11 Premier League games this season, scoring three times, but he's only once actually picked up an assist in England's top tier this season.

Now Spurs young full-back Kyle Walker Peters has really embarrassed the former Real Madrid player. In Spurs Boxing Day game the 21 year old got three assists in the first half, over 36 minutes.

Mauricio Pochettino's team were 3-0 up against Bournemouth at half time and Walker Peters had set up all of the goals, for Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura.

It really is a damning stat for Ozil and shows how poor a season he is having at the moment, despite Arsenal looking a better side this season under Unai Emery.

There has been questions about whether the German could fit into Emery's side with the Spaniard's teams generally playing with high energy and pressing the opposition.

It's a big change for Ozil from last year. 12 months ago there was speculation that he might leave the Emirates on a free, with his contract running out.

The Gunners were desperate to get him to renew and he eventually signed a £350k-a-week deal to stay.

Now he's not even as good as a 21 year old Spurs full back...
