Everything you need to know about Southampton vs Chelsea

Southampton host Chelsea at St Mary’s this evening following a frustrating defeat to Manchester United last time out.

The Saints lost 1-0 and will be disappointed not to have got a point from the game.

Their opponents today have had a relatively strong start to the season, defeating Leicester and Everton, and drawing against Spurs, but this was somewhat tarred by a 3-0 battering to Leeds.

In a boost for Thomas Tuchel's side, Wesley Fofana’s transfer to the West London club is extremely close and Frenkie de Jong and Anthony Gordon are also heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Under the German, Chelsea have never lost consecutive away matches in the Premier League, and haven’t lost at St Mary’s as a club since 2013.

Here’s everything you need to know about Southampton v Chelsea.
