Is Aston Villa Vs Southampton on TV? Channel and live stream

Aston Villa host Southampton at Villa Park tonight in what will be both sides' final Premier League game before the international break.

The Villains were due to play local rivals Leicester City last weekend before the postponement of the last round of league fixtures.

It was an opportunity, which of course went awry, for Steven Gerrard’s winless side to finally put three points on the board.

Thus, the need for a Villa victroy against Southampton tonight has only grown further in importance.

They’ve registered wins against Chelsea and Leicester, and have performed admirably week in, week out. The key for them is to turn more of these strong performances into wins.

Aston Villa team news

Steven Gerrard will continue to have to field something of a makeshift backline with Diego Carlos and Matty Cash still absent through injury.

However, the injuries carried by that defensive pair represent the only significant fitness concerns within the Villa squad.

Striker Ollie Watkins will be looking to add to his goal tally after impressing against Manchester City last time out.

Southampton team news

As for the Saints, they too possess a strong squad heading into this one.

Just two first team players are carrying knocks at the moment – Valentino Livramento and Romeo Lavia.

With that in mind, a few debuts could be on the cards.

Both Duje Caleta-Car and Arsenal loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles could both make their first appearances for Southampton tonight.
