Schalke's incredible tifo display turned white shirt into blue, it's the best ever seen

Schalke unveiled an incredible tifo against Freiburg on Saturday night.

Schalke fans produced one of the greatest tifo displays ever seen ahead of their game against Freiburg.

The Gelsenkirchen outfit lost 2-0 in the Bundesliga clash, with Vincenzo Grifo scoring twice for the visitors, who are flying high in third position in the league.

But while the performance of the players wasn't up to scratch, the fans at the VELTINS Arena more than they did their bit.

Prior to the game, Schalke unveiled a giant tifo behind the goal.

The whole stand were involved, holding up cards and a large banner, which was of a Schalke shirt.

The colour was white to begin with but then slowly but surely, smoke bombs filled the jersey and it changed into the royal blue of Schalke.

While the concept was simple, it looked absolutely stunning visually. The wonderful display happened moments before kick-off, with the teams then coming out onto the pitch to a thunderous reception.

It didn't quite have the desired effect as the game ended in defeat for Schalke but it received a whole lot of praise from fans all over the world.

Schalke's English twitter account decided to post a thread of all the magic their supporters have produced over the years.

Their rivals Borussia Dortmund have also conjured up a number of belters over the years, putting in so much thought into their designs and executing it perfectly.

In 2018, Inter and AC Milan had a phenomenal tifo war at the San Siro ahead of the Derby della Madonnina.

Inter unveiled a banner containing a large snake but at the opposite end of the ground, Milan had a tifo which depicted hands ripping a serpent apart.
