Cristiano Ronaldo became the first of many big names to head to Saudi Arabia and the Portuguese superstar has opened up on on his future in the Middle Eastern nation.

The 39-year-old joined Al Nassr in the wake of his second departure from Manchester United towards the end of 2022.

His exit from Old Trafford came following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which Ronaldo criticised many aspects of United, with his deal subsequently cancelled by mutual consent.

Ronaldo then joined Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, who he has signed a contract with until 2025.

At Al Nassr, Ronaldo has gone about what he has done best throughout his career - scoring goals by the bucketload.

In 50 games for the Saudi Pro League side, Ronaldo has found the back of the net on 42 occasions and this season alone, the Portugal international has 28 goals in 31 outings.

Ronaldo may well be 40 next year, but with his physical condition he is certainly showing no signs of slowing down. He even remains Portugal's captain on the international stage, having become his country's leading goalscorer and most capped player in the history.

Ronaldo's contract at the Saudi Pro League side expires in the summer of 2025, meaning there is just over a year to go on his deal before he is poised to become a free agent again.

But it appears the five-time Ballon D'or winner is happy in the Middle Eastern nation, adding that he and his Al Nassr team-mates have much to play for in this current campaign.

As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo said: "I am happy to be in Saudi Arabia, absolutely happy.

"I’m happy to represent Al Nassr and for me our season is positive because we have had a chance until now in all tournaments."

As with fellow GOAT Lionel Messi, Ronaldo is closer to the end of his career now than at the start, but it certainly does not seem like he will be hanging up his boots any time soon.
