Salah and Co, however, bagged the EFL Cup and FA Cup following their quadruple pursuit this season.
And in his first social media posts since the devastating loss in the Champions League final, Salah has revealed his heartbreak of not exacting revenge against the Spanish giants.
He also thanked the Liverpool fans for their support throughout a 'very long' campaign.
The 29-year-old tweeted: "Being recognised by the fans and by the sports journalists in the same season is something special that I will never forget.

"I would however give all those personal awards up for a chance at replaying that final, but that is not how football works."
In another post, he wrote: "I cannot express in words how much we wanted to bring that trophy back to Liverpool but in the end we couldn’t. I cannot thank the fans enough for your support.
"It has been a very long season but a part of me wishes the next one starts again tomorrow."
On a personal note, Salah enjoyed yet another superb term having won his third Premier League Golden Boot (tied with Tottenham's Son Heung-min).

He was also named the Premier League Fans' Player of the Year.
But his future remains under intense scrutiny despite confirming that he will be at Anfield next season.
The Egyptian international's current contract expires in June 2023, with reports claiming he could move to one of Liverpool's rivals if he fails to agree a new deal.

He's been in talks with the club for more than 12 months about extending his stay, but has yet to pen a new contract.
Salah has enjoyed five prolific and trophy-laden seasons at Liverpool since returning to England.
He's scored an impressive 156 goals and won the Premier League and Champions League, not to mention the domestic titles this season.
