Wrexham FC co-owner Ryan Reynolds has reportedly purchased a cottage worth £1.5 million in a sleepy Welsh village. It’s thought that the investment is situated on one of the ‘the poshest roads’ and further cements his commitment to the football club.

The Deadpool star, 46, made first made headlines in November 2020 when he and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor Rob McElhenney, 45, bought Wrexham Association Football Club.

Since then the pair have been involved in bringing Phil Parkinson into the fold and spearheading the hit Disney + series Welcome To Wrexham.

At the time of writing, Reynolds is hoping to secure Wrexham’s promotion into League Two at the end of the season. However, whether promotion from The National League is achieved or not, Reynolds has shown his dedication to the club by reportedly snapping up a new home.

Reynolds’ new pad is thought to be a stunning Welsh cottage situated in North Wales’ Marford village. It’s also conveniently just five miles from The Racecourse Ground.

A source reportedly told The Sun, “Ryan is moving to Marford and it’s all the locals can talk about. His house is on the poshest road.

"The most famous person from Marford is Tim Vincent [Blue Peter presenter] so a Hollywood star is a step up! It might not be the Big Apple but the red carpet will be rolled out when Ryan comes to town.”

Reynolds - along with wife and actor Blake Lively, 35 - is rumoured to have spent millions on the four-bed Marford cottage. It’s assumed that the family will be staying at the cottage when in-face meetings and Wrexham matches are going ahead.

That means their children James, eight, Betty, six, Inez, three, and their newborn baby should also all be cosying up in North Wales soon.

While it is rumoured that Lively and co. will be joining Reynolds at the cottage, the Gossip Girl actor wasn’t initially keen on Reynold’s Welsh-based splurges. After purchasing Wrexham FC, Reynolds admitted on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show that Lively wasn’t impressed.

“I remember seeing Blake, saying, ‘I have bad news and I have really bad news. I slipped into someone’s DMs again. The really bad news is that I might have bought half of a fifth-tier national football [team] in Wales,” he said.

However, since the initial shock, Lively herself has been extremely supportive. She was recently spotted alongside her husband and Wrexham co-owner McElhenney at a match.

When interacting with the fans, one asked her whether she could film a ‘shout-out’ to their girlfriend. Lively cheekily replied, “Hey Stephanie, you should leave him,” before giggling and walking on.

Whilst they can now settle in north Wales for the team's games, Reynolds will have to back in America for one of their upcoming fixtures, when the Welsh side take on Manchester United in a pre-season friendly.
