A fascinating study has revealed the most searched football players on Google in 2023 and shows there's 'no face of the Premier League'.

Naturally, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are ranked No.1 and No.2 respectively, with the Al Nassr superstar beating the Paris Saint-Germain man to top spot, according to Foot Goal.

Messi's esteemed PSG teammates Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are ranked third and fourth while Robert Lewandowski, Karim Benzema, Paulo Dybala, Gerard Pique, Sadio Mane and Luis Suarez make up the top ten.

That means there's NO Premier League star in the top ten, with Casemiro the highest-ranked player who plies his trade in England's top flight. He comes in at 11 ahead of Paul Pogba and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.

That means there's only four Premier League players in the top 20 (the aforementioned Casemiro and Salah as well as Manchester United's Harry Maguire and Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus).

1 - Cristiano Ronaldo - 17,400,000

2 - Lionel Messi - 13,200,000

7 - Paulo Dybala - 2,220,000

8 - Gerard Pique - 1,910,000

9 - Sadio Mane - 1,810,000

10 - Luis Suarez - 1,740,000

11 - Casemiro - 1,570,000

17 - Harry Maguire - 1,290,000

18 - Sergio Ramos - 1,230,000

19 - Gabriel Jesus - 1,200,000

20 - Marcelo - 1,070,000

Does the Premier League lack a face? Well, the numbers suggest so, with just four players in the top 20.

And Casemiro only joined the Old Trafford club last summer, having made his name in Spain.
