Real Madrid have a 'five-man transfer shortlist this summer', includes Harry Kane and Reece James

Real Madrid could sign trio Harry Kane, Reece James and Jude Bellingham this summer with the England players all on a five-man shortlist.

Real Madrid could have a core of English talent next season with it being reported that both Harry Kane and Reece James are on the Spanish club's five-man shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window. A deal is also believed to be nearly complete to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.

With a number of key players, such as midfielders Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, out of contract at the Bernabeu next summer and Carlos Ancelotti's squad having an average age of 27.3, Los Blancos are expected to be busy this summer sculpting a new-look squad as they look to reclaim the La Liga title from the soon-to-be crowned Barcelona.

It has been widely reported that Bellingham is Real Madrid's top target this summer, with Fabrizio Romano tweeting on Wednesday that the Spaniards 'are close' to signing the midfielder. Celta Vigo's Gabri Veiga is also believed to be a target.

Additionally, the 19-year-old could be joined in Spain by his Three Lions teammates Kane and James with Ancelotti looking to also add a striker and a right-back to his roster.

The Italian has publicly stated that he wants another talisman to accompany star striker Karim Benzema up front next season with Manchester United target Kane believed to be accompanied by Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic on the shortlist.

England's all-time leading goalscorer has netted 25 goals in 34 Premier League appearances this season for a Tottenham side that looks set to miss out on Champions League football next season.

Given Kane's goalscoring pedigree, the prospect of a transfer has always been pondered with the striker yet to win silverware but, at 29, this summer could well see the Tottenham youth product finally depart north London.

Over in west London, James has had a difficult season in a seriously underperforming Chelsea side that currently find themselves 12th in the Premier League and off the back of six consecutive defeats in the top-flight.

Injury issues have disrupted the 23-year-old's campaign but could be seen as a natural replacement for long-serving Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal, who has underperformed this term.

A deal for the defender, as well as Bellingham, would make more sense than a move for Kane given Real Madrid's transfer policy of recruiting younger players. However, the England captain could be available for a cut-price deal with his current Spurs contract due to expire next summer.
