Sir Alex Ferguson wants to help raise as much as possible for the NHS and will now have dinner with their rival's manager Jurgen Klopp.

Ferguson aims to try and raise £100,000 for the free health service after they helped save his life last year.

The 77-year-old had a brain operation following health concerns, spurring him on to raise a total of £400,000. The Scotsman was helped in his efforts by Fred Done, the co-owner of BetFred, who helped raise a quarter of these funds.

The Sun has revealed that a massive £100k of this was spent on a lovely dinner with former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.

It's unknown when or where the three will be heading out for food, but what we do know is that it's a great idea to raise money for the NHS.

Ferguson is still in rehabilitation after his surgery but seems to be looking and feeling a lot better. A source at the event said:

"Alex was in great form all night and had guests I stitches with his stories. It raised a lot of money, but Alex was determined that all of it should go to the NHS.

"He's always been a great supporter of them and that's become even more the case since his health issues."

Sir Alex kept Manchester United at the very top of football throughout his career.

His philosophy of fast, attacking football is part of Manchester United's DNA and pundit Gary Neville said no one should try and differ from this.

Former Reds striker and current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to have adopted this philosophy during his tenure and is why he has been doing so well.

Ferguson has played a pivotal role behind the scenes, by regularly attending the training ground since his recovery.

Should Solskjaer be given a new contract to carry on this philosophy?
