Even West Ham's Social Media Couldn't Believe They'd Beaten Spurs

Even West Ham's Social Media Couldn't Believe They'd Beaten Spurs

The Hammers came back from 2-0 down to beat Spurs in the Carabao Cup on a crazy night in Wembley.

The Carabao Cup doesn't always capture the imagination but tonight when West Ham came back from 2-0 down against Spurs to win 3-2 it had neutrals interested and West Ham's social media team all over the place.

In English football the Carabao Cup, or League Cup if you aren't up to date with its latest sponsorship deal, doesn't get enough love. It's the third most important domestic title to most Premier League sides so it almost gets forgotten.

When it comes to a midweek where it takes centre stage there's usually plenty of youth players and second choice players in the first team and plenty of empty seats inside the ground too.

Tonight though those who decided to travel to Wembley were treated with a great game, unless they happen to be Spurs fans of course, with Mauricio Pochettino's side surprisingly throwing away a 2-0 half-time lead to lose 3-2.

They certainly weren't the only ones but West Ham's social media team certainly couldn't believe it when the third went in, they couldn't even type words:

And fans were loving it too of course:

It might 'only' be the Carabao Cup and Harry Kane might have been missing but the loss will still come as a blow to Mauricio Pochettino and his team who put out a strong enough side to win the game and were 2-0 up.

Coming so soon after destroying Liverpool it was a big surprise.

Let's just hope the Hammers' social media man recovers in time for the weekend and Spurs fans will be hoping their players do the same when they come up against Manchester United on Saturday.
