Inter Milan Defender Stefan de Vrij Arrives At Team Dinner Driving Tiny Eco Car

A host of Inter Milan players arrived to a team dinner on Thursday night driving Ferrari's, Porsche's and Lamborghini's but defender Stefan de Vrij had other ideas.

The 27-year-old was spotted navigating an 'easy-to-park eco-car' before joining up with manager Antonio Conte and his teammates for an evening in Corso Como, Milan.

Footage shows De Vrij driving to the venue in a compact, black vehicle.

Italian commentator Andersinho Marques posted the clip on social media and it soon went viral.

"At dinner among the players of #Inter Milan (without Icardi) - all the players with Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini but #DeVrij stays humble."

He may be 6ft 2in but clearly de Vrij cares more about the environment than all round comfort.

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, who has been linked with a move this summer, was missing from last night's dinner but new signings Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku bonded with their new teammates.

The Belgian forward posted a picture on social media of the event, with The Nerazzurri president Steven Zhang present.

Stefan de Vrij isn't the only player to drive a relatively normal car.

N'Golo Kante may have signed a £290,000-a-week five-year contract last year, becoming Chelsea's highest-paid player, but he still rocks up to training in a classic Mini Cooper S.

Explaining why he bought the Mini, Kante told BBC Sport last year:

"I was at Leicester City and it was my first car in England. One person advised a Mini, a tried and I liked it so I bought one."

Never change, lads.
