Daniel Sturridge was given the opportunity to lead Liverpool's attack this evening, but the England striker's efforts saw him absolutely slaughtered by the club's supporters.
Having spent most of the season playing second-fiddle to Roberto Firmino, Sturridge was paired with the Brazilian for tonight's EFL Cup semi-final second-leg against Southampton at Anfield, with Saints leading 1-0 from the first-leg.
Getting the tie level was the first main objective for Jurgen Klopp's men, but clear-cut chances were few and far between, with Daniel Sturridge squandering the opportunities that came his way.

With Liverpool pressing late on, Southampton broke away and Shane Long scored to make it 2-0 on aggregate and seal a spot in the final.
