Liverpool Fans Thought Three Players Announced Emre Can's New Deal
Some Liverpool fans got a bit too excited and thought three of their players were hinting towards Emre Can signing on the dotted line.
The German, who is out of contract in the summer, has been stalling on a new deal for a while and there's been strong reports that he is heading to Juventus, where he would only be behind Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain when it comes to wages.
However, an Instagram post from Dejan Lovren, featuring comments from Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno, sparked optimism that the former Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich man had put pen to paper.
What could have been at Liverpool:
Following the stunning 4-3 victory over league leaders Manchester City at Anfield, Lovren, skipper for the day, posted a dressing room selfie with Can and Gini Wijnaldum.
The comments, and use of emojis from Moreno and Sturridge got a fair few Liverpool fans excited:
Dejan Lovren posted a selfie with Wijnaldum and Can. Sturridge and Moreno commenting money emojis. Emre Can linked with a contract. Lovren with a  emoji. You probably know what I'm thinking, 22% battery. pic.twitter.com/BKTLza0Icd

But while the comments were legitimate, it seems the most likely explanation is that Sturridge and Moreno were referring to the fact that Liverpool players aren't allowed to take pictures in the changing room and a fine is normally given to those that breached the rule.
I started the Can new contract rumours off and I know fuck all so don't get excited. It was a reference to the ban on changing room selfies so they'll get a fine: pic.twitter.com/6hZgfwyjrZ

Can has been speaking about his contract situation, saying the following to the Liverpool Echo:
"My agent is looking after everything but I am here until the summer. I haven't signed anything (with Juventus) or anyone. I am talking with everyone.
"Of course I am talking with Liverpool. I still have a contract here. It is an amazing club. What can I say? My agent does the rest.
"I just concentrate on the season, on my performance and the football. I will give everything for this team."
