Arsenal fans have been left absolutely furious this afternoon after their striker Oliver Giroud missed out on January's Goal of the Month Award despite scoring a timeless 'scorpion kick' that was hailed as one of the Premier League's greatest-ever strikes.

The Frenchman stunned Crystal Palace at the Emirates with his acrobatic effort which sealed all three points on New Year's Day and seemed absolutely assured to win this month's competition.

But Giroud, and Gooners everywhere, didn't bank on Andy Carroll's stunning 'bicycle kick' against the same club coming into contention - and the England striker has gone on to claim the prize.

As you can imagine, Arsenal fans detest a lot of things but they absolutely despise losing a public vote more than anything.

And a lot of supporters from north London have taken to social media in uproar at Giroud's snub:

Is it really surprising that Carroll won? Or should fans be content with the decision?
