Arsenal Fans Identify Who They Want To Replace Mesut Ozil

It doesn't look like he'll be sticking around...

Arsenal may well need to start looking for a replacement for Mesut Ozil, and a good portion of the club's fans on social media already have a name in mind to fill his boots.

Ozil, who was Arsenal's record signing when he joined from Real Madrid on deadline day in 2013, has been stalling on a new contract at the Emirates and the possibility of the German putting pen to paper on an improved deal doesn't look likely at this point - with Arsenal potentially losing the 28-year old for a free in the summer.

The former Schalke and Werder Bremen star has been linked with a whole host of moves away, including Inter Milan and Manchester United.

And some Gunners reckon another German, Schalke's Leon Goretzka, is the perfect candidate to fill the void Ozil will leave if he doesn't commit his future to the club.

The 22-year old is one of the hottest talents around at the moment and was excellent for his country as they went all the way to claim the Confederations Cup in Russia over the summer.

And he was again on form against Azerbaijan in a 5-1 win on Sunday, pulling off a glorious backheel finish and capping off a fine individual performance.

He's been linked with Bayern Munich, Juventus and Liverpool, to name just a few clubs said to be showing interest, but Arsenal supporters are desperate for Wenger to try and get him, especially because his contract in Gelsenkirchen expires in the summer.

Should Wenger do everything in his power to try and snap up Goretzka?

Sound off in the comments.
