Mesut Ozil looks unrecognisable as former Arsenal star shows off insane body transformation

Mesut Ozil has undergone an amazing body transformation since retiring last year.

Former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil looked unrecognisable as he showed off his insane body transformation.

Back in March 2023, ex-Arsenal, Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Ozil announced his retirement from professional football.

He wrote in a statement: “Hello everyone, After thoughtful consideration, I'm announcing my immediate retirement from professional football.

“I’ve had the privilege to be a professional football player for almost 17 years now and I feel incredibly thankful for the opportunity. But in recent weeks and months, having also suffered some injuries, its become more and more clear that it’s time to leave the big stage of football.”

Almost a year on from his announcement, Ozil has left fans stunned after showing off his body transformation.

Posting a video of himself working out in the gym, Ozil wrote: “Always stay ready, then you don't need to get ready.”

Reacting to the video, one fan said: “Bro became so buffed I barely recognized him.”

Another commented: “The world ain't ready for ripped Ozil.”

A third fan added: “Why is Ozil looking ripped all of a sudden?”

Someone else wrote: “Rah he looks mad different.”

A fifth joked: “Bro doesn’t need protection from Kolasinac anymore.”

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand also commented on the post, writing: “Looking strong bro.”

The German joined Arsenal from La Liga giants Madrid back in 2013 in a deal worth a reported £42.5 million.

During his time in England, Ozil made 254 appearances across all competitions, scoring 44 goals. He also got his hands on four FA Cups and one FA Community Shield.

After leaving the Gunners, Ozil went on to play for Turkish Super Lig sides Fenerbahce and Istanbul Basaksehit before calling him on his career.

Ozil is set to take part in a new Over-35s World Cup which is going to be held in England this summer.
