PSG Offered The Chance To Sign Cristiano Ronaldo

PSG Offered The Chance To Sign Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United and now PSG have been offered the chance to team him up with Lionel Messi in attack.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered to PSG, as he continues to look for a move away from Manchester United to play in the Champions League.

United's summer plans were completely rocked last week when they learnt that Ronaldo had decided to leave the club this summer, asking for United to accept reasonable offers for him.

The team's inability to finish in the top four in the Premier League last season has reportedly left him fearing that Lionel Messi could overtake his Champions League record.

United are currently working on trying to persuade the 37-year-old to stay at Old Trafford and see out the final year of the contract he signed just under a year ago.

There aren't too many options for him right now, with Chelsea being most heavily linked, after the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, had a meeting with Blues owner Todd Boehly.

However, Mendes isn't sticking exclusively with the west London side, with Le Parisien reporting that Ronaldo has been offered to PSG by the superagent.

The report claims that the Ligue 1 champions have turned down the chance to pair Ronaldo with Messi, because they don't have any room in their squad.

Keeping hold of Kylian Mbappe, something they weren't originally expected to do, means that Christophe Galtier still has to balance the Frenchman, Mbappe and Neymar.

That means they definitely can't afford to also have Ronaldo, even with Angel di Maria having left the team this summer, with the club looking like they're doing more sensible transfer business this summer.

As well as a new manager, PSG also have a new director of football, in the shape of Luis Campos, after Leonardo left, and have so far only signed Porto midfielder Vitinha.

Paul Merson in particular will be gutted to hear that the French giants have turned down the chance to sign Ronaldo, as he really wanted to see the former Real Madrid star play with Messi.

United fans got a glimpse of what life might be like without Ronaldo, as Erik ten Hag took in charge of his first game as United boss.

The Red Devils won 4-0 against rivals Liverpool, with Fred's chip and Eric Bailly's incredible run the highlights of the match, and Anthony Martial also scored, playing in the number nine role normally reserved for Ronaldo.
