Sky Sports made a huge blunder during their coverage of Newcastle vs Liverpool and plenty of fans picked up on it.

Liverpool, who were down to 10 after Virgil van Dijk was sent off in the 30th minute, came from behind to record a huge away win at St James' Park.

The Reds were losing 1-0 after Anthony Gordon's opener and looked like they could be on the receiving end of a hiding when their captain Van Dijk was dismissed for a challenge on Alexander Isak.

It followed on from Trent Alexander-Arnold narrowly avoiding a red card just five minutes into the clash.

But in the second half Darwin Nunez came off the bench to score a stunning late brace to seal a huge win for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Early on though, Sky made a substantial gaffe for the Super Sunday main event. Proceedings started as normal but after just seven seconds, the clock completely disappeared in the top left of the screen.

It meant for several minutes, the score and time played in the game were not visible to the viewers and it irritated many who had tuned in.

One said: "Sky Sports charge you £1000s a year to watch football and they can’t even make their game clock work properly."

A second commented: "Someone tell sky sports they can start the clock."

A third fumed: "@SkySports sort your clock out."

A fourth wrote: "Sky sports clock taken the knock."

Eventually the issue was sorted out and the clock, complete with the crests of both sides, returned for the remainder of the game as normal.

Sky's next Premier League fixture is on Friday night when they broadcast Luton Town's first home game in the top flight since 1992.

The Hatters welcome an in-form West Ham side to Kenilworth Road.
