A Premier League club has confirmed a deal involving Serie A giants AC Milan after the transfer deadline.

The transfer window shut on Monday at 7pm, with teams given extra time to complete moves as long as they had submitted a dealsheet beforehand.

It was a relatively quiet deadline day for Premier League clubs, with the biggest deal - Liverpool's signing of defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for £60 million - set to go through in the summer.

Jorgen Strand Larsen, meanwhile, completed his £48 million move from Wolves to Crystal Palace, but there was otherwise little movement to speak of.

But one Premier League club has managed to secure a deal after the deadline, thanks to a pre-existing clause in the player's contract.

Bournemouth right-back Alex Jimenez, who can also play at right midfield, has completed a permanent move from AC Milan.

The 20-year-old joined the Cherries on loan with an obligation to buy at the beginning of the 2025/26 season.

The obligation would be triggered if the Spain youth international started, or played 45 minutes in, over 50 per cent of the club's matches this season.

He has been a near ever-present for Andoni Iraola's side this season, and his 21st Premier League appearance - and 19th of over 45 minutes - against Aston Villa on Saturday means he is now a permanent Bournemouth player.

The club will pay a fee of around £16.5 million to sign Jimenez permanently, along with £4.3 million in potential add-ons.

Real Madrid, Jimenez's former club, will receive 50 per cent of the final transfer fee as part of the deal.

The Cherries are yet to officially announce the Spaniard's arrival, but the Bournemouth Echo report that his unveiling is expected to take place within the next week.

Bournemouth went on a run of 11 Premier League matches without a win from November, but have since won three of their last five games.

They drew 1-1 against Villa on Saturday at Dean Court, with new signing Rayan cancelling out Morgan Rogers' first-half goal.
