Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler gives half-time interview live on Sky and fans have the same reaction

Hurzeler was approached before the second half as part of a new Premier League initiative.

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has given a half-time interview live on Sky Sports during his side's Premier League clash with Manchester City - and fans have all had the same reaction.

Half-time interviews were proposed by the Premier League earlier this season as part of several planned broadcasting changes.

Many fans have now seen one taking place in the English top flight for the first time at the Amex Stadium, with Brighton's match against City being broadcast on Sky Sports.

Hurzeler was asked a series of questions by a reporter during the interval, including an assessment of Brighton's first performance with the Seagulls 1-0 down.

The German was also asked whether he was making any half-time changes, of which there were one with Carlos Baleba entering the action.

The reaction of fans on Twitter appeared to be telling, with one writing: "That half-time interview with Hurzeler was so pointless. He doesn't want to give anything away."

A second added: "HT interviews? The game's gone."

While a third said: "Half-time interviews of managers but still no interviews for referees to hold them to account."

A fourth asked: "Interviews at HT? What are they thinking?"

While a fifth responded: "Get the HT interview in the bin, utter nonsense."

According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League sent a list of three initiatives for its 20 clubs to review earlier this season.

It was claimed that broadcasters would be able to pick from a list of five players or coaches picked by the club, and would ask no more than three 'positive' questions during the course of the short interview.

The report added that plans were in place for the initiative to be brought in from next season onwards, but it appears that those plans have been brought forward or are being implemented on a trial basis.
