Forest Fans Spot Unusual Detail About Nuno Sacking as Postecoglou Appointed

Nottingham Forest fans have spotted an unusual detail regarding Nuno Espirito Santo’s sacking.

On Tuesday, Nottingham Forest announced Ange Postecoglou as their new coach, just three months after the Australian was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur.

Postecoglou was announced a day after Nuno was dismissed following a breakdown in his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Last month Nuno said his relationship with Marinakis had changed, and that the two were “not so close” anymore.

“I have always had a very good relationship with the owner, last season was very, very close, almost on a daily basis,” Nuno told a press conference. “This season, not so well.”

Nuno’s dismissal came as little surprise, based on said comments, yet one Forest fan on X appeared to have noticed an unusual detail around his departure.

One person noted that (at time of writing) no player had come out and liked either the Instagram post announcing Nuno’s departure, or the one announcing Postecoglou’s arrival.

They said on X: “Interesting that none of the players have liked the nuno post or ange post… and don’t say i’m deeping it cus Murillo likes everything forest.”

Forest owner Marinakis, however, said of Postecoglou's appointment: "We are bringing a coach to the club who has a proven and consistent record of winning trophies.

"His experience of coaching teams at the highest level, along with his desire to build something special with us at Forest, makes him a fantastic person to help us on our journey and achieve consistently all our ambitions.

"After gaining promotion to the Premier League, then building consistently season after season to secure European football, we now must take the right step to compete with the very best and challenge for trophies.

"Ange has the credentials and the track record to do this, and we are excited he is joining us on our ambitious journey."
