Ange Postecoglou has been tipped to return to Premier League management just one month after being sacked by Nottingham Forest, having spent only 39 days in charge.

After failing to win any of his first eight games, Postecoglou was dismissed as Forest boss on October 20.

The Reds fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Chelsea with the club announcing the Australian manager's departure within 20 minutes of the final whistle.

Postecoglou had only left Tottenham Hotspur in June, despite ending the club's trophy drought with a Europa League triumph.

Ultimately, a 17th-place finish in the Premier League, including 22 defeats, was deemed too disastrous for him to remain in the role.

Thomas Frank replaced Postecoglou, but the former Brentford manager has had a mixed start to the season.

Now, Postecoglou is being linked with a sensational return to the Premier League.

He is one of the leading candidates to take charge at Fulham, with Marco Silva under pressure following a disappointing start to the season.

After leaving Celtic, Brendan Rodgers is the favourite to replace Silva at 7/5, while Postecoglou is second in the betting at 2/1.

Silva's contract at Fulham expires at the end of the season.

He took charge of the Cottagers in July 2021 and guided them to the Championship title in his first season, securing promotion back to the top flight.

Since then, Silva has firmly established Fulham as a Premier League side, finishing 10th, 13th and 11th in his three campaigns.

Although they have struggled so far this season, Fulham currently sit 15th in the league, three points clear of the relegation zone.

Despite the challenges, the club are keen to extend Silva's four-year tenure at Craven Cottage and have offered him a contract extension.

Tensions rose between the Portuguese manager and the board over the summer, with Silva accusing them of being "passive" during the transfer window.

Speaking before Saturday's 1-0 victory over an in-form Sunderland, Silva told talkSPORT he remains committed to the club and reflected on his relationship with the owners.

He said: "After almost five years with me, for them to show the interest to keep the project going with the same person here, because everything is so intense, I think is a very good sign.

“Firstly, because the results, forget football, but because they recognize the job that everybody's doing in this football club for the last four and a half years almost.

“And about myself, yes. The will and the desire and the enjoyable moments, they are there between us."

Silva continued: “Let's see what is going to be the news in the future. When you have something new to say to you, you are going to announce [it].

“Right now, [there’s] nothing new to say about it.”
