The masked 'Premier League player' in Baller League has given his first interview since his stunning appearance.

Niko Omilana, who manages NDL, has claimed his team boasts an 'active' Premier League player and he was unleashed in week one

The player, who was wearing a mask, entered the fray in the seventh minute against N5 FC and took a free-kick that was saved.

Sturridge, who has teamed up with Micah Richards at Deportrio this season, delivered a ruthless assessment of the masked player's cameo.

He said: "Who's the masked player?"

The former Chelsea and Liverpool forward added: "Whomever you are, whomever you are portraying yourself to be. I just want to let you know... miles off it!"

Well, the masked 'Premier League player' has responded to Sturridge's criticism in a tongue-in-cheek video published on Niko's YouTube channel.

The masked player said: "When I joined NDL, Nico promised me I'd be the heartbeat of the team and I already know that some people are questioning why I'm here. Yeah, I was a bit disappointed in week one.

"I mean, I would have liked to have shown my abilities a bit more, but I don't know what Daniel Sturridge is talking about when his team is sitting on zero points.

"Crazy how a manager who lost his first game is talking about me... when all I did was take one free-kick."

The mystery player added: "I'll show him levels next week. I've taken this personally. I'd like to let my football do the talking."

Who is the masked 'Premier League player' in Baller League?

The masked 'Premier League player' made just one contribution for NDL against N5 FC but fans reckon they have worked out who he is.

But the mystery star is suspected to be Kevin Weggen, who has already appeared in Baller League, having played for Calcio Berlin in Germany, where the six-a-side competition began.

Weggen is a German amateur footballer and has previously played for several lower league sides, including FC Wegberg-Beeck and SV Straelen.

His FotMob profile and recent match highlights cut an eerie resemblance to the masked player's stance and set-piece style.

Weggen scored 23 goals and grabbed two assists in 11 matches during the 2025 season and is considered a 'legend'.
