Liverpool earned a last-gasp victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby as they emerged 2-1 winners thanks to an injury-time goal from Virgil Van Dijk, and with that, they have set a unique Premier League record.

Arne Slot’s side were leading 1-0 at halftime thanks to a Mohamed Salah goal, but after the interval Beto scored his fourth goal in three games to equalise.

As the game appeared to be heading towards a draw, Liverpool’s captain rose highest from an inswinging Dominik Szoboszlai corner in the tenth minute of added time to silence the home crowd.

This victory will truly aid Liverpool in their ambitions to qualify for next season’s Champions League, as they moved seven points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea with only five games remaining.

Liverpool have now managed to secure a unique feat with the victory due to the match taking place in the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the first Merseyside derby to take place here.

The Reds, according to Opta stats, have now won at 60 different Premier League grounds, the first side to achieve this record.

It now means that the club have a record of securing victories at 60 of the 62 stadiums Liverpool have played at, with only two clubs never tasting defeat at the hands of the Reds in the Premier League.

The two clubs to have never lost at home in the Premier League to the Reds only spent one season in the top flight since it became this iteration of the competition after the change of the English pyramid in 1992.

Blackpool were the first club to achieve this feat as they earned a 2-1 victory at Bloomfield Road against Liverpool on January 13, 2011.

This was Kenny Dalglish's first ever Premier League game in charge of Liverpool, and it was one that ended in defeat.

The second club to never lose a home fixture to Liverpool in the Premier League was Luton Town, who earned a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road on November 5, 2023.

This time Jurgen Klopp was in charge, with it being his last season at the helm of the club, with the German possibly not being pleased to have failed to earn all three points at Luton as they attempted to make a title charge at this point in the campaign.

Liverpool’s three points today earned them a win at a 60th stadium in the Premier League, with this record coming under the tenure of Slot.
