Erling Haaland has made a statement on social media following his performance for Manchester City against Arsenal.

Haaland scored in his side's dramatic 2-2 draw at the Etihad as he matched a stunning Cristiano Ronaldo record in the process.

He opened the scoring in the ninth minute to bring up his 10th goal of the season.

But it wasn't just his terrific goal that got fans and critics alike talking.

After John Stones' late, late equaliser, Haaland celebrated by grabbing the ball before bouncing it off Gabriel's head in a savage moment.

He also took aim at Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly, who came on as a substitute to make his Premier League debut, and aimed a brutal swipe at Mikel Arteta.

In wake of his showing against Arsenal, he's taken to social media to provide an update on his new Instagram handle.

"Hey guys! I have changed my @ on Ig," he wrote, confirming @erling has replaced @erling.haaland.

So, no comment on his feisty outing against the Gunners.

He won't face any retrospective punishment for throwing the ball at the back of Gabriel's head as VAR reviewed the incident at the time and deemed no action was necessary.

Antics aside, Haaland scored his 10th league goal of the season as Gary Neville hailed the superstar forward for his 'utter devastation'.

On commentary duty for Sky Sports, he said: "That is complete and utter devastation in footballing terms.

"Brilliant from Savinho but as soon as you see Haaland point to that space, the acceleration from the two best centre backs in the country is unbelievable. The poke past Raya is dismissive."

Haaland has helped the Blues record 13 points from their first five league games as they sit at the top of the table at this early stage.
