Everton star Amadou Onana 'knows' who masked rapper Dide is

Rapper Dide, who claims to be a Premier League footballer, has still not revealed his identity.

Everton star Amadou Onana has made a shock claim about Dide, the rapper who says he is a Premier League footballer.

Back in April, Dide broke the internet after releasing their first single 'Thrill' and have had fans guessing who is behind the mask.

All sorts of theories have emerged about the rapper's identity, with Eddie Nketiah, Sheyi Ojo, Wilfried Zaha and Reiss Nelson just some of the names floating around.

The interest was so strong that Everton boss Sean Dyche was asked if he had any "secret rappers" in his squad and had an utterly priceless response.

But it seems as though one of his players is very invested in the Dide situation.

Midfielder Amadou Onana, who is something of a musician himself has been discussing Dide.

Although he wouldn't give too much away, the Belgium international hinted about knowing exactly Dide is.

He told Sky Sports: "There has been some rumours but there is a player code that I can't break.

"People try to get it out of my mouth but I won't."

Asked about not having to wear a mask himself, Onana said: "No I don't. I feel very confident and comfortable with all that."

The mysterious rapper has been pulling the curtain back a little and opening up how he balances music and football in interviews.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, he said: "I train in the morning or the afternoon, depending on the schedule. In the evening, we have a lot of downtime as football players, and instead of going out, going shopping, and all these other things that some players do, I prefer to stay at home and relax.

“I just kind of took the gamble to release it, and then obviously, the rest is history. I just feel that especially in football, there’s always people with different opinions, and I feel like, when we’re listening to music, you always want to have a face to the music that’s being played.”

However, the artist is still hesitant to let his teammates know about his side hustle.

He added: “It’s happened a couple of times but obviously, in order to protect the identity of it, I’ve got to be ruthless. I can’t really allow anyone to know that it’s me, or to give them an idea that it could be.”
