Brendan Rodgers could make an unexpected return to the Premier League as one club has emerged as the favourite following his Celtic resignation.
Following a potentially season-defining 3-1 defeat to league leaders Hearts, Rodgers announced that he had resigned as Celtic manager on Monday, October 27.
The Northern Irishman left the Scottish giants eight points away from their familiar spot on top of the Scottish Premiership.
Since his departure, major Celtic shareholder Dermot Desmond has released a damning letter accusing Rodgers of creating a toxic atmosphere that fuelled hostility towards the board.

Rodgers' sudden and controversial exit has left questions over his future, with one report claiming he could soon be on his way back to the Premier League.

Back in April 2023, Rodgers left the Premier League after he was sacked by former club Leicester City after four years in charge.
He has since been linked with several jobs in England, but according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown Wolverhampton Wanderers are likely to be the first club to offer him a contract.

Speaking about Rodgers' situation to Football Insider, Brown said: “The question about Rodgers now is, where would he go?
“There’s been a lot of talk about a move back to the Premier League, but then you have to consider which jobs would be available for him."
However, Brown admitted that he had some doubts about the move, given the current situation that Wolves find themselves in.
“Wolves looks like the next one that’s likely to come up, but would Rodgers take that job?" Brown asked.

“It would be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, going from Celtic to Wolves, given the situation they’re in at the moment."

As it stands, Wolves are bottom of the Premier League table and remain winless with just two points from their opening nine matches.
“So I doubt very much that Rodgers would want to step into that situation.

“It will be one to keep an eye on, but I don’t expect Wolves to be his destination, so he’ll be looking maybe if there was another job in the Premier League which came up.”
According to reports, Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has been given until the next international break to turn things around, or he will be sacked.
That means he has just three games to save his job, facing Chelsea home and then away in the EFL Cup and the Premier League, with a trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in the middle of the two matches against Enzo Maresca's side.
