'The difference' between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp is going viral and Liverpool fans agree

A Liverpool fan has discovered 'the difference' between manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola - it's quickly gone viral.

The Reds have won two Premier League games this term and slipped to ninth in the table following a 3-3 draw with Brighton on Saturday.

Liverpool made four signings in the summer transfer window, but most of the squad is unchanged from the one that won the title in 2020.

It's in contrast to City, who have changed drastically from their first title win under Guardiola in 2018.

Several supporters believe Klopp needs to be ruthless and rebuild the Liverpool team, something Guardiola touched on in an interview with Rio Ferdinand in 2021.

Ferdinand won six Premier League titles under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, something Guardiola touched on in their chat.

When asked about City's sustained dominance, the 51-year-old said: "How many Premier Leagues did you win?"

Former England international Ferdinand replied with six, to which Guardiola followed up: "Did you have the same squad when you won the first one and the sixth one? You have to shake [it up]. You have to move.

City allowed Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to depart in the summer and replaced them with Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips, Sergio Gomez and Manuel Akanji.

Liverpool's XI has stayed the same for the most part and they only lost Sadio Mane. Fabio Carvalho, Calvin Ramsay and Darwin Nunez were their only purchases and Arthur Melo arrived on loan.

"With the same guys, it's always impossible. We change," Guardiola continued: "After a defeat and win, we change. Me included. The beginning you accept things, when you win things you accept less.

"The process is the most difficult but you have to do it. If you don't, it's impossible."

Fans have reacted to the interview and they think Guardiola is spot on.

One person said: "Pep is so clear man I've seen the light."

Another put: "This has completely changed my mindset towards winning."

While a third tweeted: "Love this answer so much."

City are unbeaten in all competitions this season and demolished bitter rivals Manchester United 6-3 in the Manchester derby on Sunday.

Under Guardiola, they've won the Carabao Cup four times plus the FA Cup.

They're yet to win the Champions League however and were beaten in the 2021 final by Chelsea.
