Pedri hilariously told fellow Barcelona starlet Gavi what to do on the red carpet at the Ballon d'Or ceremony.

Gavi, 18, beat Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga and Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala to claim the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d'Or awards in Paris on Monday.

Pedri won the same award last year and presented his teammate with the prize along with Ronaldo this year.

The 19-year-old also helped Gavi before the presentation, brilliantly guiding him on the red carpet.

A lost-looking Gavi arrived on the red carpet not knowing what to do and looked at Pedri for assistance.

Pedri then nodded towards the cameras, which prompted Gavi to pose for photos.

Pedri said it's an honour to play with Gavi and spoke about his pride at seeing his fellow countryman win the prestigious individual prize.

He said: "It makes me proud to see him here.

"I spend so many hours with him and I see everything he does, how he gives everything in every training session, in every game.

"It’s an honour to play with him and I hope we can play on together for many years."

Gavi added: "I want to thank my family, my agent and everyone at Las Masia.

"Also Barca, my lifetime club and my team-mates, and the national team, and my coaches. I wouldn’t be here without them... Visca el Barca."

Pedri has starred for Barca since making his debut in 2020. He played 52 games in all competitions the campaign he broke into the first-team.

He's featured in 13 games in all competitions this season, scoring two goals.

As for Gavi, he's made 13 appearances this term, having made his Barca bow last season.

Pedri and Gavi are touted to have big futures and have even been compared to club legends Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

Their early success suggests they could reach similar levels to Xavi and Iniesta.
