Paul Scholes was NOT happy with the flags attendees were given at Old Trafford just a day after Manchester City completed a treble.

Man City beat Inter Milan 1-0 in Istanbul to win the Champions League, having also won the Premier League and FA Cup this season.

Fans online jokingly claimed Man United paid tribute to their cross-town rivals following the flag situation at Soccer Aid.

Blue and white flags were waved around Man United's stadium prior to kick-off for the UNICEF charity match.

Red Devils legend Scholes hit out at the decision to give Man City-coloured flags to supporters as he posted a furious message on Instagram.

"Somebody has to be taking the p**s with all these flags," he wrote, accompanied with a picture of the blue and white flags at Old Trafford.

The flags also sent social media wild as Man City fans couldn't believe it.

One Twitter user wrote: "Some has dropped a boll**k here. MAN CITY HAVE WON THE TREBLE."

A second joked: "Nice tribute to the neighbours. Proper respect."

A third added: "Oh the irony….and the day after City win the treble."

A fourth said: "Looks like Man City have taken over old Trafford.2

Another commented: "No way they done that !!! Why did United let that happen."

Man City became the first English club to scoop the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in a single season since Man United's achievement in 1999.
