The recent expiration of Paul Pogba’s contract with Manchester United has left question marks over the Frenchman’s future. The latest developments have put Liverpool in the picture, with talks between both parties suspected to have gone down as of late.

Pogba is coming off the back of a largely disappointing season with Manchester United, the club where he has spent the last six years.

United officially announced the Frenchman's departure a few days ago. An announcement which many were expecting, with player and club failing to reach an agreement on an extension.

The midfield maestro is evidently looking for a new challenge. Could that challenge be joining Premier League rivals Liverpool?

Former England striker Darren Bent believes Jurgen Klopp will have already held talks with Paul Pogba over a controversial move to Anfield.

The 29 year-old is largely expected to re-join Juventus, the club where he found his best form 6 years ago. However, perhaps an offer to remain in the Premier League will be just too tempting for Pogba, with Liverpool potentially offering him a position in a Premier League and Champions League challenging side. Something United have failed to do over the last 6 years.

Of course a move to arch rivals Liverpool wouldn’t go down well in the red half of Manchester. Yet, with United fans recent booing of Pogba at the end of his time at Old Trafford, it wouldn’t be surprising if it left a bitter taste in the player's mouth. Just maybe that could push the player to sign for Liverpool, and really rub it in the faces of the Busby boys.
