A 'vile' joke made in Paddy McGuinness' 2007 football DVD has gone viral on social media.

The Phoenix Nights actor starred in Paddy McGuinness - All Star Balls Ups alongside a host of English football legends.

One joke made right at the end of the show has resurfaced on Twitter, with many questioning how it made it into the final cut.

You can check it out for yourself below.

The DVD is a compilation of errors made in the Premier League era, literal 'balls ups' on the pitch.

One segment involves McGuinness attempting to show players of the past are 'overpaid, oversexed and overrated'.

He gets Chris Kamara, Alan McInally, and Paul Merson to work a shift at what is presented as his own personal mansion.

All three are stood over the sink while polishing small trophies, making some sexual and awkward sound effects.

Kamara and McInally are innocent and actually cleaning trophies. Merson, meanwhile, is made out to be doing something rather inappropriate.

"For the love of Christ, what are you doing!" shouts McGuiness as he walks in on the trio.

"Just polishing your trophies sir," replies Kamara.

"What about him," McGuiness remarks as he points at Merson.

"Best not to say," McInally says.

Merson then stares into the camera, with the implication he's actually pleasuring himself.

Fans have reacted to the clip, which hasn't gone down well at all.

One person commented: "This has unlocked a memory I didn't know I had."

Another said: "I’ve been laughing for five minutes straight think I might die send help."

A third tweeted: "Laughed, cried, was enthralled. 10/10."

While someone put: "The last 10 seconds of this are both amazing and traumatic in equal measure."

An official description reads: "Paddy, McGuinness, the everyman working class hero, shows you how footballers are overpaid, oversexed and over rated in his latest DVD - All Star Balls Up.

"With the help of a host of his famous football buddies Paddy comments shows us clips of the funniest, humiliating and most outrageous balls-ups in football to date."
