Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo was sensationally sent off just NINE seconds into the Ligue One clash with Angers this afternoon.

Nice were hosting Angers in a 2pm kick-off at the Allianz Riviera but made the worst possible start when their centre-back was sent for an early bath.

Angers took kick-off and played it forward quickly with some neat one-touch passing. But then Todibo came in and committed a cynical foul after Abdallah Sima had beaten him to the ball.

He stopped the Senegalese forward darting by taking him out but then the referee shockingly brandished a red card in what felt like a very harsh dismissal.

It really was something straight out of FIFA and unsurprisingly Todibo obliterated the record for the fastest red card in Ligue One history.

10-man Nice managed to ride the wave of attacks for the majority of the first half but on the stroke of half-time former Spurs and Schalke midfielder Nabil Bentaleb put Angers ahead.

Todibo signed for Barcelona in 2019 and was handed the No.6 shirt previously worn by Blaugrana.

However, he played just five times for the Catalan outfit and after loans to both Schalke and Barcelona, he returned to France.

The move was a loan at first before it became permanent for a fee of €8.5 million and an additional €7 million in variables in February 2021.

He featured 40 times in all competitions last term.
