Zlatan Ibrahimovic has sent the most Zlatan farewell message to Sweden after retiring from their national team.

The former Paris Saint-Germain striker had announced earlier this week that he could call time on his international career following Sweden's final game of Euro 2016.

And their 1-0 defeat to Belgium last night turned out to be that final game - with Zlatan and the Swedes ending their tournament in the group phase after taking just one point from their three matches.

As expected with Zlatan, he didn't go quietly and has this morning paid tribute to his nation at the end of an international career which saw him score 62 goals in 116 appearances.

Warning - it's the most Zlatan message ever. He wrote this on Facebook:

It's hard not to love Zlatan after reading messages like that. He obviously loves himself, but clearly appreciates what Sweden has done for his career.

He now moves on to a new chapter in his football career - and Manchester United fans will be hoping it involves their club.

Zlatan's future is unclear after his spell with PSG ended and United are believed to be frontrunners to sign him up on a free transfer.

When that decision will come, it's not clear either, but this won't be the last of the big news involving Ibrahimovic this summer.
