Slaven Bilic is set to stay on at West Ham in the summer and the talk is that he will have big funds available to him as he tries to improve his squad considerably.

The Hammers received £25m from Marseille when Dimitri Payet eventually got his wish to return to France in January, and Jason Burt from The Telegraph is reporting that West Ham want to make "two or three significant signings" in the summer.

And one of the rumoured targets would be an incredible addition if a deal could somehow come to fruition.

According to the report, Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has been earmarked as a potential major signing.

The Ivorian was frozen out by Pep Guardiola at the beginning of the season following the constant outbursts from his agent Dimitri Seluk. But Toure, who made huge improvements to his fitness and shedded the pounds, worked his way back into the fold and has been an influential player for Guardiola since returning.

Given his high performance level, the bulk of Manchester City fans would like to see Toure, undoubtedly a City legend, extend his stay at the club.

His deal expires in the summer and the former Barcelona midfielder is yet to agree a new contract. The Daily Star reported that the 33-year old would need to take a pay-cut in order to be part of Guardiola's plans for the next season.

West Ham are said to be "emerging as a viable destination" for Toure if he does become a free agent - though they would have to dish out some fairly substantial wages to what they would normally pay.

If a deal is struck, what a statement of intent it would be by Slaven Bilic and West Ham.
