West Brom Youngster Makes Debut And Gets GCSE Results In Same Week

Not a bad week for him...

When I received my GCSE results I had two things on my mind; 1) Which off license is most likely to serve me and my mates a three litre bottle of Strongbow and 2) I really can't be arsed with resitting Maths. Kane Wilson, however, likely has very different situations to mull over.

The 16-year-old made his debut for West Brom in the EFL Cup earlier in the midweek during the Baggies shock defeat to Northampton and yesterday the teenage defender picked up his GCSE results.

Achieving 11 GCSE's after receiving plaudits for an impressive debut would be a major reason to celebrate but, again unlike myself, I can't see Wilson hitting the town on a belly full of warm cider and Smart Price voddy, trying and failing to dance to 'Gravel Pit' by Wu-Tang Clan. Wilson did, however, express his disbelief at what has been an incredible week for the 16-year-old.

However, how, as a footballer at a Premier League outfit, did Wilson only manage a B?

"To make my debut for Albion was amazing and the support I have since received from fans has been fantastic. It was an unbelievable experience and the atmosphere was crazy. It was the proudest moment of my life.

"My family came to pick me up from training and they had been to collect my results from my school.I couldn't wait and had to open them in the car. When I read the results out we all went crazy, I was delighted with them.

"I got A's in ICT and citizenship and then B's in English and physics. I only got a B in PE though so I don't know what has gone wrong there, I'm gutted about that."
